Broadway Beng 3...

Went to the Broadway Beng 3 show tonight with my ex-colleagues and it was good... Think we all had a good laugh throughout the one and a half hour show.

It was nice catching up with them over coffee at One Fullerton too...

movie feast...

Managed to catch two very nice movies over the past 2 weekends, and they are none other than [881] and [Secret]. The first left me tearing non-stop inside the cinema while the latter gave me a nice surprise.

[881]

Like the ‘musical’ feel with all the hokkien songs and the glamour of the getai...

Like the inserts of humour throughout the show...

Was completely touched by the simple storyline...

Most Importantly, it's the first movie that i can discuss with my mum!

[Secret]

Like the cinematography with all the nice settings...

Impressed with Jay’s piano playing skill...

Like the piano tracks...

Like the twist of the story most!

Feeling satisfied.

Broadway Beng Returns!

Went to watch Broadway Beng yesterday night, it was a really funny and entertaining show. Think it has been sometimes since I last laugh so much, so much that my jaw almost cramp. Learned lots of hokkien and one really great equation,

C = (F+D)M3

Basically, ‘C’ stands for Chinese people, ‘F’ is for Food, D is for Drinks and M is for Money. So what this equation is trying to say is that Food, Drinks and Money are the 3 most important things to Chinese, but of cause, Money is the most most important one because without money, the equation will not work.

Ok, let me show u an example when money equals 0,

C = (1000 + 1000) (0)3 = 0

but if either Food and/or Drinks equals to 0,

C = (0 + 0) (100)3 = 1,000,000

See... quite make sense right? Haha

Too bad tonight is already the last show, if not I will strongly recommend you all to go and watch and have a good laugh! So, maybe that will have to wait till next year for the 3rd series of Broadway Beng, should there be any.

it's fireworks season again!

It has been an eventful weekend for me...

During the past weekend, i have actually watched both [The Lake House] and the [Il Mare]. Personally i think i have enjoyed [The Lake House] more as i find it to be more humourous and touching. But, i really like the way the house was filmed in the [Il Mare], with the building silhouetted against its background and it definitely has a more architectural touch to it as compared to the glass house in [The Lake House]. Would like to catch [The Lake House] again if there is a chance.

On Saturday, both liting and i went to kelly’s house in the evening intending to catch the fireworks of the NDP preview. It was my first time to her house, and her parents were very nice to me, trying to make me feel at home. Really felt quite homely as we sat round the table together with her family and enjoying dinner. After which, we all proceeded to the nearby open space intending to catch some shots of the fireworks. There were already quite a crowd there, young and old, family and friends, all ready and patiently waiting for the fireworks to start. We quickly found a place for liting to set up her camera and soon after, some sparks of fireworks went off and we were frantically snapping away. After the fireworks have ended, the three of us proceeded to the cosy bay there to continue taking more photographs...

These are some of the photographs that i have taken on that night. As i don’t have my camera with me and can only rely on my 2 mega pixel handphone camera, so... don’t put too high an expectation on the photographs... hee...

[4:30]

have just come back from the movie [4:30].

originally, i thought i might be bored by the limited dialogue in the show. however, i must say that i actually quite enjoyed the silence. maybe it is this silence that really makes one concentrate hard on the show.

i like the movie...
i like the way messages are being conveyed through simple actions and gestures. i have always believe that actions speak louder than words and most of the time they do not lie.

i like the movie...
as many a times, i felt as though i can understand xiao wu’s restlessness. maybe it’s because loneliness has already quietly slipped into my life more than once without my knowing.

i like the movie...
as i can finally understand why i have always carry a liking for black. maybe it’s because i am also someone with no dreams.

The past 13 days...

Juz realized tat I haven’t been updating my blog for 13 days already... For those who have been missing me, well... I am back!

... 21st September 2005

went over to a ting’s house with a few friends tat nite to catch a late nite movie marathon. The initial intention was to catch the Japanese movie [在世界中心呼唤爱], but since our intention was to stay overnite there, the gals went to rent the [东成西就] vcd so tat we can have one more show to watch. It’s a really “no plot” show tat had sent us laughing like crazy some 10yrs back, and watching it 10yrs later now doesn’t make it any less funny, all the funny scenes are still as funny.

The second show [在世界中心呼唤爱] is a very touching love story which would have probably made me tear if not for all the tiredness. One of the scenes which I quite like is this linear walkway which stretches out to the sea whereby the couple was walking on. I wonder where this place is in Japan, will really like to visit this place if there’s a chance.

Despite all the tiredness, we still ended up staying up the whole nite going thru all our previous photos and autograph book, except for zhen who was oredi soundly asleep even before the second show ended. As we were flipping thru ting’s autograph book, we realized tat there are so many things which has oredi been forgotten, am really grateful tat all these has been pen down previously if not they would have been lost forever...

... 24th September 2005 – 2nd October 2005

had been really busy at work the whole of this week. Everyday is so routine, waking up early in the morning, coming to work, and finally going back home only after midnite, and before I realized, its morning again... once I even got back home only at 4am something. I juz did a simple calculation on the total hours that I have worked this week and it actually totaled up to nearly 90 hours! Luckily it’s all over yesterday, and after a good 12 hours of sleep last nite, things are finally back to normal again... at least for the time being...
