I was supposed to be on “Urgent Leave” on tuesday, and this is where I was... =P




The weather was extremely nice that day and it was such a pleasure to cycle under the clear blue sky with constant breezes hitting onto your face. How nice! And the whole journey was especially smooth without all the crowd on a weekday afternoon.

Just a pity is that we do not have enough time to walk on the beach and feel the sea... We shall go and do that when u all are back, ok?

[21.03.2008 - gathering @ ting's house]

Went over to ting’s place for a small gathering on Friday. Saw her wedding photos and they are really very nicely taken, so nice that it actually makes me feels like going to the place and capture those great sceneries. (Can we go there someday?)

After which, Ting treated us to some “local delights” at Bt Timah market, nice nice! (Look at the spread, we feels so much like tourists trying out local food! Hee!)

Chilled out at Mac after that for some drawings & guessing games and ice-cream.

It’s been a simple & nice day!

Malacca Trip 2008

Went over to Malacca for a short break last weekend with a few friends. Even though it was only a 2 day/1 night trip, it was great and I have enjoyed myself a lot. In short, the whole trip can be summarized as follows:

Malacca Trip 2008 = nice place + nice hotel + nice food + nice company!!

Definitely looking forward to going back there again...

Sumptious Dinner @ MOF

Just came back from a nice dinner treat by my colleague at MOF (Ministry of Food). Felt quite bad to make him spend so much but I must say that I have quite enjoyed the dinner tonight and the money is definitely well-spent as the food there is really not too bad. Just look at the spread that the two of us are having and you will know what I mean. What's more, there is this yummy Imo desserts that is not shown here.

Still feeling a bit bloated now... *Burps*

a relaxing saturday evening...

It was a great evening spent with ting, uncle chua, tay and zhen at the Petals & Leaves Bistro at Lim Chu Kang. A really quiet and serene place I would say, with a nice Balinese setting. The food there is also not too bad, comprising mainly of western food. Would really like to visit the place again in the near future if possible.

After which, we spent the rest of the night playing bowling and pool. Had quite a bit of fun tonight, it really reminds me of the times back in school when we will have occasional outings to east coast where we will go cycling or bowling. Eh, how about making the beach our next gathering venue? Quite miss the beach actually...

Lastly, must really thank uncle chua for always driving us around! Really appreciate it!

icy cold yuan yang

After contemplating for so long, wondering how the drink [yuan yang] really tastes like, i have finally tried the cold version of it yesterday. Not too bad, and i quite enjoy its unique taste, first it taste like coffee, and then it leaves an aftertaste of tea in your mouth. Though i am usually more of a coffee drinker than a tea drinker, i don’t really like the aftertaste of coffee. In fact, i think i find the aftertaste of tea to be more pleasant. So i guess this is the perfect drink for me!

Was out under the scorching sun just now to run some errand and i was actually craving for a cup of icy cold yuan yang and, this is exactly what I came back with. i must say that it’s a really great thirst quencher!

So, i am still enjoying my cup of icy cold yuan yang this very moment while blogging away. hee...

a LONG saturday

Was out practically the whole of last Saturday, from 8:30am in the morning, all the way to 1:30am at night. (i shall explain later why i got home only so late, it’s really a LONG story!)

08:30 :
forced myself to wake up early in the morning so that I could go for a morning swim, only to find the pool too crowded with people, and eventually ended up sun tanning there for 1 ½ hour.

11:30 :
proceeded to Peace Center and later to Sunshine Plaza to collect some A0 panels and A3 print outs and getting them bind into booklets. Met some really hostile people at one of the binding shops at Peace Center who simply refused to do the ring binding for us, claiming that some of the laminated finish print outs will spoil their binding machine. But we also managed to meet some really nice people at the other binding shop just two doors away who were willing to try out the binding for us, and the binding came out really fine!

17:30 :
met up with liting, kelly and liyi for Durian Dessert Buffet at Goodwood Park Hotel. Only managed to taste 11 out of the 13 different types of durian desserts, leaving out the durian toast and the durian ice kachang as i was really too full by the end of the 4th round to stuff anymore things into my stomach. But it was quite a great experience, tasting the different types of durian desserts ranging from durian puff, durian pancake, to durian cakes and durian tiramisu. After all, how often do we find all these great stuff!

20:30 :
the 4 of us met up with steph at raffles place to catch the fireworks at the One Fullerton area. You should really see the crowd there, with the bridge and the road all filled up with people. We had a really hard time squeezing through the crowd and finally ended up at a location by chance where we could catch quite a good view of the fireworks. i have really enjoyed this round of fireworks, romantic at times, plus a little bit of playfulness and definitely magnificent!


23:45 :
finally headed back home after we had supper at Bugis area and it was really a LONG journey back home! Was too tired after a day of work, eat and play that i fell asleep almost immediately as I boarded the bus. And the result was, i overslept and missed my stop, only woke up in time to find myself already 2 to 3 stops away. As there were no more buses around except for nightrider buses, i decided to take the bus all the way back to the interchange before taking another nightrider bus back home or if not, i could also try and walk home. i immediately regretted at this decision as the bus was basically winding through all the various corners of the estate, and it was only then did i realize how big the estate that i am living in is. Finally, as the bus was approaching the interchange, i casually asked the driver if i could still get a fare rebate if were to take back the same nightrider service and the answer was no. But upon learning where i intended to alight, the driver was good enough to offer me to “lombang” another nightrider service that happened to come out of the interchange free of charge. Was really quite happy and appreciative at their offer initially, but not after realizing that i had to go through all the previous long journey again before arriving at my bus stop. And so, it was already 1:30am when i eventually got home.

it's been a long walk...

It was a great Sunday out with kelly and liting.

The original plan of going to East Coast Park was aborted due to various reasons and after breakfast at Bras Basah MacDonalds, we ended up walking around Bugis, Kampong Glam area, in an attempt for some photo shoots. However, there was nothing much to be taken as the place was generally quite dead on a Sunday afternoon. So, eventually we decided to head towards a Hong Kong Style Café [兴旺茶餐厅] at Marina Square, as recommended by both of them, for more food. Indeed, it was a nice place with quite a nice ambience and nice food. (By the way, i just found out from my brother that there is also a branch of the café at cineleisure now.)

After which, we headed towards Queensway Shopping Centre & Ikea in an attempt to search for my sports shoes and study desk, but knowing how choosy i am, it is quite predictable that i could not find any of my liking. And so, the day ended off with not much 收获, except for more fats gained! But nevertheless, it has indeed been a nice long walk...

[a ful-filling day]

It has been a day full of treats...

First was a lunch treat from my colleagues at 鼎泰丰 with yummy 小笼包 and other great Taiwanese food, followed by a dinner treat from my brother and sis-in-law at [the Big O] with yummy salmon dish, brownies and cakes.

Must really say a BIG THANK YOU to them for making my birthday this year a really ful-filling one! And not forgetting my little niece who has also participated in my birthday celebration for the first time...

Just had a sumptuous lunch at swensens with my colleagues, ordered my favourite fish n chips as usual. As we have ordered executive lunch set, it comes with a complimentary designer ice-cream dessert which is simple and nicely designed... of cos since it's called a "designer ice-cream". Nice taste too... hmm... but mine doesn't have the cherry...
